Diamond drilling and diamond cutting techniques are at the very cutting edge of construction technology and can offer unique benefits, including:

  • Minimal dust
  • Minimal noise
  • Dramatically reduced vibrations
  • Extremely smooth clean cuts and edges
  • Advanced precision and accuracy of size, and depth of cuts or holes
  • Advanced versatility of depths and sizes of cuts or holes
  • Ability to cut through almost anything
  • Portable and lightweight machinery that can be used in difficult spaces

Diamond drilling and cutting techniques are very specialised, so getting expert help is a must. At Confast we are proud to be experts in diamond drilling and diamond cutting, and are more than happy to help with any of your concrete drilling or cutting needs.

Keep reading to find out whether diamond cutting or diamond drilling is right for you and your construction project.

Diamond drilling

Diamond drilling is a process whereby extremely precise and clean holes can be drilled into concrete. The drill bit is coated in diamond which makes it the most reliable and effective method of drilling through hard materials such as concrete.

Concrete drilling can also be used, through a process called puncture drilling, to make a series of interconnected holes which then slice through a section of concrete. This kind of industrial drilling is mostly used in situations when the concrete is too deep to be simply cut through with a saw, or various other scenarios where diamond sawing would not be possible. Our team of experts would be happy to advise on whether your project is one that would need drilling instead of sawing.

Some possible applications of diamond drilling:

  • Creating tunnels to carry plumbing pipes or electrical wires
  • Making space for windows or doorways
  • Inserting structural supports and beams during construction
  • Core extraction of rocks

Diamond cutting

Diamond cutting allows smooth and clean cuts to be made through concrete with ease. These cuts can also be made at varying levels of depth to match up to the requirements of any project.

The level of accuracy matched with the toughness of a diamond coated saw means that diamond cutting is the ideal solution for both heavy duty jobs and projects which need precision.

Some possible applications of diamond cutting:

  • Cutting concrete slabs
  • Cutting up concrete flooring into sections to be removed or patched
  • Interior trenching in concrete
  • Repairing damaged concrete
  • Cutting straight and smooth lines through concrete

These lists of possible uses for both diamond drilling and sawing are not exhaustive, and you may well come up against another situation which requires one, or both, of these techniques.

Get in touch with us and our experienced and professional team of experts will be able to point you in the right direction and find the perfect solution for you.
